Description

Debian has reported a vulnerability in XBlockOut (xbl), which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling input to the "-display" command line option. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow allowing execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the "games" group.
