Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in IBM U2 UniVerse, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to the utility "cci_dir" creating hard links while running suid "root". This can be exploited to delete existing files using "unlink()" and create new ones with arbitrary content, which can be exploited to gain "root" privileges.

A PoC (Proof of Concept) exploit where a specially crafted "ld.so.preload" file is made is included in the original advisory.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 10.0.0.9 and prior.
