Description


Pete Foster has reported a vulnerability in e107, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

The problem is that script code may be included in formatting tags. For example:
"[img]/imgsrc.png' onmouseover='javascript_function;[/img]

This can be exploited anonymously via the chat box, but also many user functions allowing the special formating option are vulnerable.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.554 but may also affect other versions.


Solution:
Update to version 0.615.
