Description

Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Atari800, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors when handling arguments to various command line options. This can be exploited by supplying an overly long, specially crafted argument, which causes a buffer overflow.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with "root" privileges.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.3.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Update to version 1.3.2 or later.
