Description: Conectiva has issued updated packages for wget. These fix an older vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or potentially compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the handling of URLs. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by supplying a long URL (more than 256 characters), which potentially can be exploited to execute arbitrary code though this has not been proven.
