Description

A vulnerability has been identified in VMware Workstation for Linux allowing malicious users on the host operating system to delete arbitrary files.

The problem is that malicious users can manipulate symlinks and cause VMware to delete arbitrary files.

VMware Workstation 4.0.1 for Linux build 5289 and earlier is affected by this.
