Description: A vulnerability has been reported in pam-pgsql, which potentially can be exploited by a malicious person to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) on an application using PAM authentication or compromise the system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error when writing log messages in debug mode. This can be exploited by supplying a specially crafted username containing format specifiers, which may allow execution of arbitrary code on a vulnerable system with the privileges of the application requesting PAM authentication.
