Description:
Debian has reported a vulnerability in autorespond, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling emails forwarded by qmail. This may be exploited to cause a buffer overflow.

Successful exploitation will allow execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the user, who set up qmail to forward emails to autorespond. However, the vulnerability is not believed to be exploitable due to length limits. These may not apply in certain cases, though.
