Description: A vulnerability has been reported in OpenSLP, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions on a system with escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to the initscript "slpd.all_init" using "/tmp/route.check" in an insecure manner. This can be exploited via symlink attacks to clear the content of arbitrary files with the privileges of the user running the initscript (typically "root").
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.0.11. However, prior versions may also be affected.
