Description: A vulnerability has been identified in Crafty, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to boundary errors when handling certain command line arguments. These can be exploited by supplying overly long, specially crafted arguments to command line options.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with group "games" privileges on systems where it has been installed sgid.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 19.3. However, prior versions may also be affected.
