Description

Two vulnerabilities have been identified in NewsPHP allowing malicious people to include arbitrary files and bypass authentication.

1) The problem is that the language file parameter isn't properly verified if it is undefined in the configuration file (this is default). This allows malicious people to supply an arbitrary path to local files.

Example:
http://[victim]/nphp/nphpd.php?nphp_config[LangFile]=/any/file

2) A malicious person can access all functions in NewsPHP if only he can guess the exact number of users on the system. This could be enumerated fairly easy.

Example:
nphpd.php?output&pword=a&uname=fake_user&nphp_users[n_users][0]=fake_user&
nphp_users[n_users][1]=0cc175b9c0f1b6a831c399e269772661&nphp_users[n_users][3]=5

Where "n_users" = number of users on the system.

This has been confirmed in version 216. Earlier versions may also be affected.
