Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Liquid War, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling the "HOME" environment variable. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by inserting an overly long, specially crafted string allowing execution of arbitrary code with group "games" privileges on systems, where the game is installed sgid.

The vulnerability is reported in version 5.4.5. However, other versions may also be affected.
