Description: Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Plug and Play Web Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to gain knowledge of sensitive information and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
Input supplied in HTTP requests to the web service isn't validated properly. This can be exploited to conduct trivial directory traversals by including "../" or "..\" character sequences before resource names.
Example:
http://[victim]/../../existing_file
A boundary error in the FTP service can be exploited by users, who are logged in, to cause a buffer overflow. This may potentially allow execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the FTP service by supplying an overly long (509 bytes or more), specially crafted argument to various FTP commands.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.0002c. However, other versions may also be affected.
