Description: A vulnerability has been reported in mIRC, which can be exploited by malicious servers to compromise a user's system.
The problem is that the response for a "USERHOST" request may only be 110 characters long. If an IRC server sends a longer response to the client, it causes a buffer overflow, which may allow execution of arbitrary code.
A sample exploit has been released.
This has been reported to affect version 6.01 to 6.1.
