ISS X-Force has reported a vulnerability in some versions of Microsoft Windows, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a race condition when handling incoming RPC requests. This can be exploited by sending many specially crafted RPC request, which causes two threads to handle the same RPC request.

Successful exploitation leads to memory corruption, which causes the RPC service to crash and may also force the vulnerable system to reboot.
