Is there any sort of patch that can be used for this? I tried the licensing toolkit repair and it seemed to work fine up till recently. I would update the program but I really only use it for handling files in TIFF format (scanning pics and negatives) and it's really just too expensive if that's all I'm gonna use it for anyway. Thanks for any help.

Adobe Photoshop Elements versions 6,7 & 8 are now End of Life which means no more updates or security fixes will be issued by the vendor.

Version 10 has just been released. Details on a replacement are here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Photoshop-Elements-U...

Because U use your current programme in a limited way U could do a risk assessment against the Secunia Advisory & then create an Ignore Rule if U consider the risk worth taking.

Hope this helps.

.tiff files aren't affected. See: http://www.adobe.com/support/security/advisories/a...

Best part of £100 for the upgrade from Adobe. A nice little earner.

If you want to be cautious, consider using EMET: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?...

These are buffer overflow vulnerabilities and EMET is good at stopping them being exploited.

Thanks for the help : ) I'll do a lot of research and then see if it's worth ignoring the program. I'll definitely check out EMET. Cheers again for the help.
