Blast: Secunia PSI a top 10 free app

10:08 CET, 29th November 2011 By Secunia.

Blast, the “lifestyle and tech magazine focused on us spoiled rotten Generation Y kids born between 1978 and sometime in the early 90s” has outlined its “10 free apps you have to install on your computer.” The Editor-in-Chief, John M. Guilfoil’s computer had been running slow, prompting him to do some autumn cleaning and create a handy guide of programs that are free to download and install.

One of his recommendations is the Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI).

“This is a new one for me, but I’ve started to really enjoy it. Secunia Personal Software Inspector keeps tabs on all the software you have installed on your computer and checks them against a database of known vulnerabilities. It will tell you if you need a new patch or if your older software is at end-of-life, possibly leaving it vulnerable to exploits.”
