It therefore gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the new Secunia PSI 3.0 (currently in public beta).

Over the past few years the number of vulnerabilities affecting typical end-points has more than tripled with the majority of these (78%) found in non-Microsoft (third-party) programs*, which are considerably more difficult to patch as several different update mechanisms are required. As a result of this, programs are often left unpatched by users. Cybercriminals know this!

To help solve this problem, the Secunia PSI 3.0 is designed to be a one-stop-shop for security updates that provides a hassle-free user experience at the same time as increasing your PC security. It makes keeping your third-party programs updated easier than ever before by automatically patching the most popular programs using the Secunia Package System (SPS). The benefit of this is that you don’t have to manually update multiple programs, as this is done automatically in the background by the Secunia PSI. You still have to manually update some of your programs, which is unavoidable. However, to relieve the burden of this task, we have introduced a completely re-designed and simplified user interface.
