Entry written by Secunia.

At this year’s DEFCON – one of the world’s largest annual hacker conventions held in Las Vegas – Secunia’s Chief Security Specialist Carsten Eiram was joined on the DEFCON 19 panel by representatives from Microsoft, TippingPoint, MITRE/CVE, Open Security Foundation, OSVDB, and CERT.

The DEFCON 19 panel debated the hot topic: Is it 0-day or 0-care? Throughout this highly interesting discussion, the panel examined vulnerability information over the past several years with an emphasis on understanding security researchers, quality of research, vendors, disclosure trends and the value of security vulnerabilities.

As DEFCON says, “This emotional debate surrounding Full Disclosure has raged on for decades.”

Watch the panel discussion in full here.

Stay Secure,

Secunia
