I like Secunia for the feeling of more security.

You may already use Firefox for any update Secunia points at except for Microsoft updates. If you wish for Firefox to come up when you click on a link, then Firefox needs to be set as the default Web Browser. Does that work for you?

Got the same problem with Opera, but Opera is my default browser.

Hmmm ...

I'm using Opera 9.63 and PSI 1.0.0.3 under XP SP3. I have no Insecure or End-of-Life programs left to click on Solution links.

When I go to my list of Patched programs in PSI, pick one, then click on "Online References" then click on a link, it shows up in Opera. When I click on "Community Forum", it opens in Opera.

When does Internet Explorer show up for you?

It opens IE whenever I click on a link in PSI. I defined Opera as standard browser in Opera itself as well as in the system control of Vista.

Does Internet Explorer come up when you click on the same type of links I mentioned above?

Are you using PSI v1.0.0.3?

I am using XP, while your computer is running Vista, so I suppose the links could be treated differently.

I even flipped my default browser to MSIE. When I click on links in PSI, MSIE opens. When Opera is the default, Opera opens.

Yes. All links, also the ones you mentioned. In Vista there is a thing called "Default Programs". Opera is shown as default in all categories in there. But: If I take a look at the categories of IE there is one called "Internet links (.url)". This one is not shown for Opera so I can not make Opera default program for this category. Maybe this is the problem?

Edit: I found the solution for Vista! I opened up "Default Programs" -> "Set program access and computer defaults" -> "Custom". Use "Opera" (or Firefox) as default browser and click ok. If this does not solve the problem try to take away the checkmark in front of "Enable access to this program".

I do not know why I had to do that because I already had Opera set as default browser in Opera itself and in "Default Programs" -> "Set your default programs".

Thanks everybody!
