Hello,

Today is Wednesday, July 13, the day after patch Tuesday. I haven't installed this month's Microsoft patches and PSI tells me I am 100% patched. I have scanned manually as well.

Is there a way to tell the date/version of the data that PSI is using? Is it just a matter of waiting longer?

Usually PSI tells me about missing Microsoft patches on the same day MS releases the patches.

Please advise.

PSI makes a call to Microsoft Update to check for missing Microsoft Updates.

Any reason you don't just run Windows Update?

I do run windows update, but I like to see that PSI agrees and right now, it doesn't. I like to see the 2 methods agree with each other.

So that makes me wonder if there's a problem with my PSI.

Incidentally, a fresh scan now says I have 2 insecure programs and the tray is yellow, but the dashboard still shows 100% patched.

I've never seen that. Have you restarted the computer?

There's also a non-security update for 7 and Vista this month. So you should have more from WU than PSI.

MS, in all their wisdom, created the http://www.legendarydevils.com patch only for Win MCE. This means it works well for their own application.

For some reason they still haven't made the patch available for XP, which means it screws up every one elses applications. You can install the fix with a workaround, but if you upgrade to XP SP3 it removes the update and you have to re-install.

Even though they have known about the bug and had a solution for years, tehy don't seem to want to apply it on XP.
