I need to uninstall the program, but it is not listed in Add/Remove Programs, either as Windows Live Photo Gallery or Windows Live Essentials,so how do I uninstall it?

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,Roy

Roy

I had a similar problem recently, trying to remove Live Writer/Photo Gallery from my Vista OS....In my case they weren't showing in Programs and Features.
I managed to uninstall using Revouninstaller...available from here :-
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_fr...
If you go to the bottom of that page you'll be able to download the free version.

If Revo does then detect the progs., you are presented with different options for uninstalling them, culminating in Advanced uninstall, whereby it will also search the Registry for any left-over files.
Hope you find the foregoing of some help.....regards,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I had in fact decided to download the free version of Revo Uninstaller before reading your reply, and managed to uninstall Windows Live Photo Gallery with that program.

I uninstalled WLPG because it kept crashing, and I wanted to try reinstalling it. I reinstalled it but it still crashes with Error Code 0x80070002. I have no idea what to try next, but thanks for your comments anyway.

Best regards,Roy

Did you try running the Registry Scanner in CCleaner after you'd managed to uninstall ? I tend to clean/scan/defrag etc., between installs; and find it keeps probs to a minimum. I'd uninstalled Photo Gallery as I wanted to try Picasa....which I've since installed and have been very pleased with. That went very smoothly.

Hello Mogs and Maurice,

Mogs, yes,I run Ccleaner several times a day.

Maurice, thanks but the fixit is designed to fix a problem with Windows Updates, and doesn't seem relevant to my WLPG problem, unless I am missing something.

If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate hearing them.

Thanks and regards,Roy

The "Fix It" can cure the Error Code 0x80070002 U are reporting.

EDIT:
Roy,
Something else U can try. Download this programme:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-clean...

Run the programme - there should be entries for Windows Live Photo Gallery. Highlight them one at a time & click remove.

Once they are all removed (there will be numerous entries) go here:

http://explore.live.com/

Click the install button for Messenger. Eventually a box will appear with two options - select Choose programs you wish to install. At the top it should now reoffer Windows Live Photo Gallery & any other elements U have not got installed.

Untick (remove the check mark) from any items U do not want - now follow the prompts to install it/those selected.

USE ADVICE

U may retain the Microsoft Cleanup Tool if U like but please be aware Microsoft no-longer support it in any way. Although listed, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE, should this tool be used to remove any Microsoft Office Components now or in the future.

I tried all the suggestions given in this thread, but none worked.

I had one or two different problems as well,so decided to do a clean reinstall of Win 7, and I am pleased to say that WLPG is now working, and the other problems have gone.

Regards,Roy
