Thanks smallbiz !!
I used to get some sense of satisfaction from the upkeep of the CClip thread, tho' it didn't prove to be overly popular. It seemed to be of worth to a handful of faithful supporters tho'. I still tend to read/scan most of the Sites I used to provide the clips from...and have more than once recently come across issues which I've thought might be of interest to forum members. Perhaps if there were more indication generally, as regards a demand for it's resumption....it might be easily resurrected.
Maybe it's best to see what kind of impetus/feedback this thread engenders first eh ?
Nevertheless....thanks for the mention......regards,

Hi ,

I think that even if only a few bother to take the time/benefit from the clips , then every sinner's soul saved will be one less for the bad guys to feast upon .

Whether the items are more carefully selected may defeat the object of touching a wide audience of all/every level(s) of "teccy" ability ; much depends on the time available from the Welsh wordsmith . He may even be inspired by a "result" at the Millenium on Saturday to add some poetic licence :))

Cast your bread (of heaven) on the waters and let's have a soggy toast to all who sail in her !!

Slaintè .

Anthony

PS : from my point of view , I would advocate skipping referring to/advocazting contentious programmes such as "Optimizers" !!

Hi Anthony.

Welsh wordsmith ???!!! I hope that isn't a subtle allusion to old crisps or forging any horseshoes.....an overly long time in the fiery furnace for sins ?! Having been born at the time of the old Arms Park.....you might imagine, I'm not as green as the grass....and I'm not at sea with the English ?!
Perhaps we need always bear in mind the correct International use of it, requires much less refereeing and policing ?! Less often lost in pidgin and translation ?!
Somewhere in the middle of a diversity of more or less technical ability.....possibly change the title to CyberClips Central ? Shipshape and less critical fashion ? Optimizers.....objections oft registered....point taken....I could do better in steering clear of ? Aren't I often disarming ?!

Hi all

All I gotta say is I sure missed the relevant & update info that you provided in the Cclips mogs--& your 'style'

Have a great day.

Yes , thanks smallbiz for toggling Mogs back into life . He's also less argumentative and more cryptically poetic these days , so added thanks .

Plenty of good stuff so far Mogs with something for all . Nice call .

The new website is a horror to navigate quckly and tho' I can get a good(ish) text size in Ff , I am struggling to read anything in comfort on Chrome and that is a real pain .

Take care

Anthony

smallbiz/Anthony/wr:

I have finally fathomed out (english colloquialism; translation = 'realised') why mogs was "toggled back" - nice one, Anthony!

Mogs thought that by mentioning CPR, smallbiz was referring to the (very topical) Civil Procedure Rules. These (UK) relate to matters such as defamation, anti-social behaviour/harassment, gang-related violence and such matters.***

Such laws were introduced mainly as a result of Mogs' behaviour/track record when he was younger - 'nobbut a lad' as they say up here.

Also Mogs' crystal-ball told him some mystic figures - 19/9. This turned out to be the margin by which the mighty Welsh rugby union team beat the English.

So Mogs' crystal ball was right, thus confirming his decision to be toggled was the right one.

Sir Mogs - Lord Mogs? - Saint Mogs? We salute you! Long may your fingers run wild over your keyboard. :0)

PS When was this new website intoduced? I missed the funfairs - sorry, fanfares.

Hi Taffy, You missed a post from Secunia staff, Mrs. Erikson-Jensen yesterday evening:

Dear Secunia Community,
A note to let you know that the Secunia corporate website has received a new look and feel - introduced today. Focus of the updated website has been on usability and making Secunia's offerings more accessible to our website visitors i.e. free Secunia PSI, OSI, advisories, and whitepapers etc. For the next few weeks we will be making additional enhancements and updates, while we will also work with the look and feel of the Secunia Community. These changes will be introduced on an on-going basis - so keep an eye on the website. As always your input and feedback is very welcome and should be sent to marketing@secunia.com

Hi Mogs ,

I was at 144% and some font adjustments for clear view of the posts and the lhs column sidelined/missing ; now I need to drop to 100% or things and strings drift off to the Orient and I am not at all comfortable . A Firefox add-on lets me adjust text zoom separately and I am trying to get the Extension "AutoZoom" to do the same in Chrome but with limited success - most annoying !! :(((( The All threads page is a nightmare

I have emailed marketing with that and some other navigation problems ; they are looking into it .

Take care that the bard has no hidden barbs

Anthony

Morning Anthony.
I agree...navigation is awkward .....hopes that your suggestions get taken on board quickly.
I think my eyesight must have actually improved, as I seem to have adjusted to the smaller print size.....tho' I'll have to be careful I don't do too much reading perhaps.
Of course my own real writing has many spikey bits and tails on "y's".....my great and small zeds and zees don't look particularly sleepy !
Regarding teeth and nails.......sometimes twice a week with the clippers, but no molar with a twinkle !! I think my father's sword may have had more magic.....when I was a kid it seemed gigantic !!!

Have a good day !!!

Hi all

I'm with you Anthony, I've had my No Squint(thanks for suggesting) settings all over the adjustment grid
& finally got most everything 'right' I think--
(at least I can read the text) now.

By the way on this new website when you click a link to read a thread
does it then change color when you return
to the sub-forum like the old website?
Mine doesn't-any settings that you're
aware of that needs to be adjusted?

Take care & keep up the good work.

Regards, wr

Hi wr ,

You are correct as far as I can see in that on returning to a "used" link in either Ff or Chrome there is no colour change/indication of a previous visit . This is most annoying when returning to a thread listing ; concurrent with other navigation problems .

In Ff using NoSquint , in the "site settings" (right click the zoom % display in the Add-on bar - just above task bar - if you use it) , you can set colours for non- & visited links - the default colours are a bit heavy handed*** but obvious enuff'.

No such luck for Chrome .

You might want to email marketing@secunia.com to make sure they add this "oversight" to their to do list .

Trust you are well , OGSO .

Anthony

EDIT*** : selecting just the NS colour for "visited" sites is less obvious but "easier" on the eye - can't make up my mind (as usual :))))

Hey Anthony,

Thanks for commenting on the bug
with the visited links. Just wanted
to be sure I wasn't the only one with the
problem as I hadn't seen anyone else
comment on this. Sent email as per your suggestion short time ago. Also
good to see mogs hasn't lost his 'touch'
& the Cclips are up & running.

Thanks for asking as OGSO is well
& happy-don't comment on technical
advice anymore as v2.0xxx is above
my paygrade. But I do 'lurk' daily &
enjoy the reading. Some of 'it' is
surely entertaining.

Take care.

Regards, wr

Edit: FWIW New website link here on Forum still doesn't change colors when visited using No Squint Text Color settings. ??

Hi wr ,

As I remember , I had two have two goes to get the links to show colour differentiation using NoSquint .

You mention Text colour , not sure if you mean that , as you need to set Link colour . You also need to be in Site settings and not Global settings .

When you are at a Secunia Forum page you need to get to see the NS Site Settings splash window with secunia.com in the top line of the display and bottom RIGHT of the window is the "Link Colours" section .

It certainly is working for me in Ff 6.0.x . Does that help ??

Anthony

No Requiems for Anthony ? !

Whether he needed an ear trumpet or spyglass ?
They didn't need so much security ?
A pirate may have known a Paige well ?!

Some put notes on five or ten lines of Treble and Bass,
as quick as I write a verse, or much faster ?
I'm not a rhinocerus/old locomotive, charging along ?!
Sometimes they're slower/faster at notational composition
than those that work at the lyrics ?!
Beethoven and Tchaikovsky etc.,
may have been quicker "writing" than some could play them ?

Sometimes it takes two :
but not always a man and wife ?
I've got a good eye and an ear (?)..................
but music I couldn't always interpret ?
Presentation is not the everything ?
I'm not the scruffiest old rocker nor a Lloyd Webber..........
............when out on the town ?!!!!!!!!!!

Ode to a Requiem

So many variations on a Paige ; is it Nobler in the Mind to read them all now this Glorious Summertide or leave some/all to a dark and stormy nite in the this coming Winter of Our Discontent ..

Were those on that Jolly Rogere'd sloop (John B?!) just Rolling in the Deep to the Delicate Sound of Thunder or merely a Memory set in Elaine ??

Will a FreeBird , perhaps a Wandering Albatross , lead you to the Stairway to Heaven or simply down the Road to Hell ?? Phoenix Rising is symptomatic !!

Beethoven himself is likely Rolling Over in his grave at the thought of someone Back in the USSR setting a Price Tag on his accumulated works .

Despite the best attempts of Opthalmologues and ORL Consultants to provide me with Lorgnettes and Strumpets , it is easy to fall foul of today's Juvenile Webmasters (??!!) and their ignorance of the infinite variabilities and idiosyncrasies of the Real World . Will no one rid me of this Tubulent Child(ishness:(((((

And now To Sleep , Perchance to Dream - well not just yet :)))

Hey Anthony,

Yes I did mean Link color not Text color.
The setting was working on all the thread
links except the New Secunia website thread--I checked
later last night & it was working as well--maybe
'it' just needed a couple of goes as you stated to get oriented.
I guess I need to say hello to mogs also & say to both that I certainly enjoyed your
comments here on this thread-& I have
nothing more to add at this time regarding same-I just read & enjoy.

Oh & thanks to smallbiz for 'shaking the
trees & raking the leaves' to get mogs back on track.

Regards, wr
PS Anthony NS is working well in Ff 3.6.20 & PSI 1.5.02. Patiently waiting for Ff 8 to upgrade to that platform & will probably upgrade to PSI 2.0.xxxx at that
time as well. See y'all later.

Hi RastaFarEye

I think you're confusing CyberClips with
Video clips. The CClips aren't 'hidden'
from anyone, new or old members.
They are provided by one of our respected
members-mogs-who scans information
pertaining to pc/internet security & posts that info here to keep everyone better
informed.

Click the link provided & you can 'see'
the Clips. http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/112...

Hope this helps.

Regards, wr
