Java 7 1.70 b-147 suddenly disappreared from the psi scan list. Just before it happened I saw two popups from the taskbar informing me that Java has been patched. I then performed a manual update, no updates available. Ran a full scan, no Java, I tried to make a missing program suggestion but that failed because I am unable to locate the right file. What happened with Java this afternoon?

Same problem here.

This morning I saw a PSI bubble popup advising that Java7 was removed and now its gone from the PSI program list. I tried to re-scan my system and still PSI does not recognize Java JRE 7.
Java is on my system. I even did a Java JRE7 reinstall and that did not change anything with PSI. I have confirmed Java works in my browsers and the Java checker is verifying I have 1.7.0.

So it seems that Secunia broke their latest definition file update. It likely occurred when they updated to JRE 6 update 27.

Lets hope they fix soon.

Hi,

Do you still have (Oracle or Sun) Java JRE 1.7.x / 7.x shown in your list?

This is the program that is supposed to be detected.

Hello Emil, no, Java is not in the listl: not with Oracle or Sun. The total of my programs list
went from 58 to 57. To be sure I just performed a full scan again without result.

Hi,

I was not referring to the "Java 7.x" program, but to a seperate program, listed as "Sun Java JRE 1.6.x / 6.x".

Is this also not detected?

No, this is not detected and not on my system.

I have just done a clean install on my test PC (XP SP3).

Installed is JAVA 6 Update 27 which according to the Oracle online test is the latest version.

It is showing in PSI as version 6.0.270.7 & is subject to vulnerability SA45173.

Hope this helps.

Dumping JAVA as I type!

Did a new PSI scan. Java is now properly detected as Oracle Jave JRE SE 1.7.x/7.x.

However the detected version column is blank for this app.

Hello ,

Further to the post from Maurice Joyce , the Sun Java SE 6 security baseline remains as 1.6.0_26 ; so JRE U27 is only a bug fix . Full details :-

Take care

Not a clue , Joe .

U27 is already behind the times as it bug fixes Firefox 5.0.x which is already insecure and is patched/updated by version 6.0.x . Quite bizarre any way you look at it .

Take care
