i uninstalled version 0.9.81, & installed version 1.1.11. I rescanned, & the results showed the old uninstalled version. i checked the program version on my computer, & it is version 1.1.11. Any ideas on how to get Secunia to recognize the new version? I closed & reopened Secunia with the same results. Perhaps I need to reboot, as I have not done that yet, because this is the day my security are scheduled to run throughout the day. |

Yes, I have done a full rescan three times. Twice before I closed Secunia, & again after I reopened Secunia. All of the results were the same. | ||||||||

I would suggest the new programme to Secunia. SUGGESTING A NEW PROGRAMME TO SECUNIA VERSION 2 1. From the DASHBOARD page click on RESULTS. 2. On the RESULTS page look above the tab INSTALL SOLUTION & U will see a green icon & ARE YOU MISSING A PROGRAM? 3. Click it. Fill out the details requested. 4. Click SUGGEST SOFTWARE. ALL OLDER PSI VERSIONS 1. Open the PATCHED or SECURE BROWSING tab. 2. Scroll to the bottom where U will see a link in blue ink "Program Missing? Suggest It Here!" 3. Click the link & then fill out the details in the boxes that appear(the important bit is the FILE SELECTION). 4.Click Suggest Program. Normally,Secunia do not respond to any request for programme inclusion nor do they accept programmes in Beta. After a reasonable time lapse a full rescan of PSI should reveal the new programme. Hello Kamran , The VLC Media Player is in the Secunia database for a considerable time and is subject to a "secure browsing" bug which has caused much polemic , as per these threads :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/all_threads/?fo... It is currently correctly displayed by my PSI (version 2.0.0.3003) at the following location :- C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe, version 1.1.11.0 I am guessing , but I think the OP has an old version file still on her/his machine that the PSI (depending on version) is still detecting somewhere , as was the case in the OP's previous thread ;- http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/745... Anthony -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |
