I have just downloaded the program and saw the results in the tray but what can I do from there? I try double clicking on the icon but secuna shows up but then disappears. I am being told that I have End of Life programs and insecure programs but I have no idea how to remedy these. Help please.

That should not happen.

U may wish to check the FAQ to see if that pinpoints the problem & offers a remedy which is here:
http://secunia.com/products/consumer/PSI/faq/

In addition, the Secunia PSI User Manual can be viewed here:

http://secunia.com/gfx/pdf/Secunia%20PSI%202.0%20-...

If U want more help later what OS are U using?

Hello from across the Pond!

I reinstalled the program but when I double click the main page appears and disappears immediately. I am using Windows XP on this PC.

Perhaps a good idea to get your PC up to date security wise before looking into the loss of PSI version 2 functionality

Try this:

http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...

If U look under the main download link U will see this:
Older version of PSI can be downloaded here

Click that link - it will uninstall your current version & install version 1.5.

Once installed it should scan your PC automatically & give U a readout of any issues.

Does that work?

If U have looked through the FAQ (there is a few adjustments for XP) in some cases.

Failing that have U checked your Firewall is not preventing it from working?

If U right click on the task tray icon>about>what version does it say?

Hi ,

It "sounds" like you have a known XP bug ; the specific XP workarounds mentioned by Maurice Joyce are here (scroll down for them) :-

http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...

Let us know if they work for you .

Anthony
