Hello,

I was wondering if you can forgive me for bringing this issue before you since it is not really Secunia PSI related.

There is a C:\WINDOWS\Installer hidden folder with lots of files and directories, some 0.5 GB big and all together 2.5 GB big. They prevent defragmentation, and besides it, the disk is thin and close to no room for security patches.

Thanks
MT

The MsiZap command in the Windows SDK can remove orphan files from this directory:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/de...
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?...

Use the command
msizap g!

This program was also included in the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility which has been discontinued. You can still find copies on the Internet in places such as this:
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Windows-Inst...
The page is infested with ads with download buttons, so be careful to download the right thing.
If you trust the site, it's a lot smaller download than the SDK.
