http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

Use the download link which removes the old & installs the new.

A full rescan with PSI & bingo U are back to 100%.

Edit:
I should perhaps add that if U do want to completely remove it without a reinstall U should use Control Panel>add/remove & not delete the file exposed by PSI.

It was not part of Windows update. PSI would tell U if U had version 5 installed rather than 4.

Using my link will completely update it.

How come Silverlight didnt prompt me that there was an update? I have that checked instead of updating automatically.

Silverlight is managed by Microsoft. As of last night they are still offering Version 4 via Windows Update because, if fully patched, it is not vulnerable.

Secunia have declared it End Of Life & supplied I link to the Silverlight site to update as & when which in line with their stance here:
http://secunia.com/products/consumer/PSI/faq/#q5

The Secunia EoL declaration does not appear to be in line with Microsoft's Lifecycle Policy here:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifean45#sl4

Only Secunia Support can answer why there is a sudden "urge to purge" version 4 when Microsoft are still offering it via Windows Update. This is why U have not been "officially" notified by Windows Update - no doubt it will follow in due course.

U can also personally be notified of changes to any Microsoft Product. Just sign up to their newsletters/email notification system or use RSS feeds.

That link does not get rid of the old one. Also when I downloaded what I thought was 5, it ends up going back to 4. What the heck?

What link? There are 3 on this thread.

If U activate the top one it takes U direct to the download of version 5.

It works - tried & tested as U will see here:
http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/118...

and here:

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/118...

If U have a particular problem U should create your own thread giving details of how/what U have tried rather than hi-jack this one which will be locked in due course.
