Hi,

Description:
I am using HP all-in-one Deskjet printer (Model: F-4185) and I have installed latest version of its original software on my Win 7 64 Bit PC. This software is working fine with all its functions. And it has been updated via HP update utility.

The problem I am having is that my Kaspersky Anti Virus detected a Vulnerability in HP's installed software package. There is a old version of Adobe Flash Player (flashplayer.exe) in the HP's software package installed on my PC which is not active.
(Path:- C :\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\Help\player\FlashPla.exe)

If I remove/delete this old version of Flash player, my HP software does not work. So I cant delete it. When I check the details of this old version of flash player through Kaspersky, It suggests me to update it but the problem is that it is not installed on PC.
(About installation of Flash player, I have installed latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed on PC.)
I dont know what steps to take.

Kindly let me know the solution.

1. Product Name and Number: HP All-in-One Deskjet - F4185
2. Operating System installed: Win 7 64 Bit

Thanks for reply.
No, I have not installed PCI. But I scanned my PC with OSI and it did not mention any vulnerability.

OSI has a very limited database. To get a full vulnerability check on your PC & the printer issue U require PSI.

Thanks for reply.

Ok, I have installed PCI and scanned my PC. It does not show any problem.

It doesn't look as if Secunia monitor that program.

You can try this:
Download the Flash Player 11.1 Projector from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads...
Rename it to FlashPlayer.exe
Rename the FlashPlayer.exe in the HP file in case you need to go back.
Copy the new FlashPlayer.exe into the HP file

Thanks for reply.

I tried the steps you suggested but its not solving the problem.
After doing so, my HP software started asking for re-installation. And after re-installing again the same old FlashPlayer.exe appeared.

I think that the only way to fix this is for HP to issue an updated version of the program.

As it appears that this is only being used internally by the HP software, it is unlikely that it presents any risk to you.

Thanks for reply.

I already checked for New software update but there is no New software available.
Anyways I will try HP customer care for any chance on this this issue. Thanks.
