I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP3 and Windows is trying to update and seems to be in a loop. Its trying to do 11 updates and I cannot install any other software as it tells me that updates are already happening. Is there anyone who can help me.

@Snowyra
Hello.
I'm not really familiar with XP.....but can you run CHKDSK before trying to install anything ? If so, it may set a few things in order.

I tried CHKDSK and windows is still trying to update 11 updates. It seems to be in a loop and I have no idea on how to stop this. At the same time Secunia is telling me to update Windows XP and one other.

It may be worth trying selecting the updates manually i.e. select just one update and install that. Then another & install that and so on.

But it's important to remember to reboot every time and also you may have to keeping checking what updates are needed. Most if not all MS updates need you to reboot before they take effect.

another thing to try is to visit this:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906602

What I like about it is that it brings up an auto-fix window just after it opens. Worth a try!!
