Recently I installed Freemake Video Downloader 3.0. I notice Secunia PSI 2.0.0.3001 doesn't detect that program, so I suggested it, via "Are you missing a program". However, Secunia PSI does detect a part of the Freemake Video Downloader 3.0 program, C:\Program Files\Freemake\psvince.dll , and sees it as K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.x. I suppose psvince.dll can be a part of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, but in this case it is not. Dear Secunia, could you correct that faulty detection, please? Thank you very much. Best regards, Spiff |

Hi , There is a problem in detecting K-Lite codec pack as such ; see these threads :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/all_threads/?fo... You will see that the psvince.dll is common . Thank you, Anthony. Yes, I had seen some of those other threads you mentioned. And I noticed there were problems detecting K-Lite Codec Packs and another program being detected as K-Lite Codec Pack. But I hadn't found anything about Freemake Video Downloader 3.0 being detected as K-Lite Codec Pack. I think it's not very 'bright' of the Secunia PSI program to detect psvince.dll in a folder C:\Program Files\Freemake\psvince.dll as part of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. I contacted support@secunia.com, and Secunia Support replied: " Thanks for contacting Secunia Support. We have adjusted our detection rule for Freemake Video Downloader 3.x / K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.x. Please try a rescan and let us know if the issue should not have been solved." Problem solved. K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.x is no longer falsely detected and Freemake Video Downloader 3.0 is now detected. Perfect. Thank you very much, Secunia. Best regards, Spiff |

PSI now detects Freemake Video Downloader 3.0, but presents it as version 2.0. I see Secunia PSI checks for the wrong .exe. It needs too look at FreemakeVD.exe (which is 3.0), not FreemakeVideoDownloader.exe (2.0) I'll contact Secunia Support again :-) Spiff |
