Hi ---I can't get rid of this old Adobe program. The secunia fix is to update to Adobe 10. When I do this, I update to the new Adobe 10, but the pesky Adobe Acrobat reader 5.0 is still there. On the far right column of secunia is a statement on the program saying "Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 is the actual program"; whatever that means. I went into the control panel and it doesn't show up on the list of programs. I saw in another thread (now closed) where people were having the same issue but nothing ever got resolved. I suppose I could get rid of acrobat 10 and reload it and see if it goes away, but my suspiscion is that it is a separate program. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello.........try the following :-
Deletion of an entry.

To delete a vulnerable file or folder using PSI 2 :

1. Open psi and go to Scan Results.

2. Alongside the vulnerable prog. is a "+" sign.

Clicking on that will reveal Detected Instances..

3. Below, are two yellow folders. Click the one without a red dot.
It will open Windows Explorer and you will be able to view the vulnerable files/folders.

4. Right click and delete.
Perform a full scan to confirm all in order.

You may find it useful...it helps helpers on the forum to help you....if you include the following in any future correspondence :-

Hope the foregoing is of help.......regards,

Thank you.
That did the trick. However I thought that just deleting the folders and files wouldn't remove registry entries and such. But its gone and I can go on cleaning stuff up. Thanks again.!

Great.......glad it worked for you.

Happy holiday........regards,

Edit.
Just to mention......it is best not to use the Vulnerabilities section of the forum when creating a thread, as it's "reserved" for specific discussion.

Edit 2
Sorry if the above statement may have been confusing......this post is in Programs.....I may have momentarily had my mind on another !!

@Mogs - it was in Vulnerabilities - I moved it like I do for all those who post incorrectly.

Original problem resolved.
