PSI 1.5.0.2 on Windows XP.

Since yesterday (I did not run it for a while before that), when I start it, it hangs at the first page saying:
"Please wait while network connectivity is verified."

I tried everything from the FAQ, but is still does not work.

Any other idea to try?

On another computer with Windows 7 in the same home network PSI 1.5.0.2 works fine.

When running in debug mode (psi.exe --verbose --debug secunia.txt) on the XP I get:

[01/08 17:14:00.890] Scanning file: 'C:\Program Files\Secunia\PSI\psi.exe'

I tried to load that URL in the browser and it comes up emtpy (on both PCs).

Then I started PSI on the Windows 7 PC in debug mode and tried the URL it uses, and that URL returns content when tried on both PCs.

That URL is :
https://psi.secunia.com:443/psi_api/1502/?type=age...

So it seems the server refuses my first PCs query for some reason. Here are details I got using wget:

$ wget --no-check-certificate -d "https://psi.secunia.com:443/psi_api/1502/?type=age..."
DEBUG output created by Wget 1.13.4 on cygwin.

After a while the text in the PSI window changed to:

An error occurred.
You PSI installation does not appear to have registered it self correctly. Please ensure that 'psi.exe' is allowed to connect to the Internet, then please close down the PSI and start it again.

Alternatively, try to re-verify your account. Re-verify account

If this still doesn't solve this issue, then please contact support@secunia.com for further assistance.

"Re-verify account" is a link, but unfortunately, nothing happens, when I click it. :(

OK, I "phised" out that the link points to https://psi.secunia.com/psi/1502/index.php?page=lo...

I opened that in the web browser, but it shows the exactly same text as above.
Clicking the "Re-verify account" link just reloads the page.

Exact same experience w my Vista box.
Link does nothing for me also ?
Do you perhaps have another User Account to run PSI from....?
I have two Admin accounts and have always been able to run PSI from both accounts.
A few days ago. Access to PSI hung at Network Connectivity from both accounts.
I used revouninstaller after trying PSI built in uninstaller / re-install with no change.
Revo must have cleared out at least one PSI profile because I am now able to run PSI from one Admin account. I was also able to recover the PSI profile associated with that Admin account.
The second Admin account hangs at Network Connectivity.
The PSI profile is/was different for each Admin account.

Just my two cents

I reinstalled, rebooted, but it did not help.

Finally, as suspected, the culprit was the unique ID assigned to me and the somehow botched configuration associated with it as secunia.com.
After I cleaned the Secunia stored information from the registry (after uninstalling PSI) and reinstalled PSI, it works again.

The settings are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Secunia
I just deleted the entire "Secunia" key.

Hello xerces8

Thanks again for pointing me to a plausible solution.
Apparently the Profile Username is superfluous.
The unique user ID token assigned by Secunia holds the key.

Much appreciated
