Had a problem today with v 2.0.0.3003, what with it the GUI taking an inordinate amount of time to load, (over 6 minutes) and manual scan, not completed, over 8 minutes. Used user admin to uninstall and install new version. Uninstalled 3003, downloaded 4003 from ftp site for Secunia, and installed. Used Revo Uninstaller Free to completely remove all traces of 3003 version. Now have PSI v 4003 running on computer, but could not re-register with old and original profile, even though I entered information exactly as it was in v 3003. I had to come here to register the 4003 version, and as a result of changes here, had to alter my user name from joe schmoe to joe_schmoe. Also not allowed to use the original password for the original account, as rules for that changed as well. I was unable to use the 'Recover Secunia Community Profile" to update the latest version. Using the register as new user did not work either. Is there a way to merge, or least have, the history of joe schmoe integrated into the new account? I feel this is important, as I am not a new member here. I do come here from time to time, so if you could... BTW, when v 4003 first loaded, fonts in it were similar to Comic Sans MS, and the GUI was different. Also saw undefined when PSI window was beginnig to start, right after 'Verifying Internet Connection'. Restarting the psi tray.exe brought a pastel light blue border color. and fonts were back to where they were with v 3003. Why would (could) that happen? XP Home Edition SP3 P4 2.8 2GB RAM Just checked the Community Profile page in PSI 4003, and it still is blank, no information in user fields. joe |

There's a post by Maurice here, which I believe is the latest info regarding the "Recover" issue.........http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/119... Edit. You might get more help with sorting/merging of profiles by contacting Support with the details. -- Toshiba Satellite L300D Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2 Chrome 19 Stable Channel Chrome Canary 21 IE9 Secunia psi 2.0.0.4003 |

Hello. Yesterday Saturday 11 February 2012 I had a similar problem in 2 Laptops and 2 desktops (one of them is running a dual boot system (i.e. Windows Vista Ultimate x 64 plus Windows 7 x64 Ultimate all English and all of them fully patching -updating. In my Old laptop which runs Vista Home premium x32 I was running Secunia PSI 2.0.0.3003.as in ALL in my computers. But yesterday I had to be on that laptop more than an hour in order to understand that the problem was NOT mine. I only removed that old version in my Laptop and installed the very last PSI v.2.00.4003 !! I tried with a reboot to make that new PSI to run but without any LUCK!!! I left all my computers as they were I did everything I wanted to do and I start my computers today Sunday. Now everything seems to run as it SHOULD.The difference now is that only my old laptop runs with the very last PSI 2.0.0.4003 and all the others run the with the old versions 2.0.0.3003. Any syggestions?? Thanking u in advance. P.S. Yesterday the problem was that the PSI was starting but without could finishing his job.Plus the colour were red(marrone) NEVER GREEN |

There was a major server(s) outrage with Secunia yesterday. It affected both the programme & the websites. The outrage lasted several hours. Sadly some ( there are other threads on the Forum) believed it was a PC error & tried to fix it. Left alone PSI should now be working normally whatever version is currently installed. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE9 16GB RAM |

Yeah, I'm sad too. How to contact Support about merging or updating profiles? I will include the thread url when contacting, so hopefully that will help. Program is showing <unregistered user> in Dashboard, despite several efforts to register with new user account. joe |

Well, I got in touch with Secunia support, and they said they still had problems with the registration servers. Right now, I have two accounts and still not able to register. Last communication with support was two days ago. ??? joe |

Joe, Not sure what U are trying to tell us. The server outrage prevented the programme from working & denied access to the website for a fair length of time. It was not related to the profile issue. That has been going on for months. Those who uninstalled/reinstalled PSI during the outrage may well have created a scenario whereby their profile became "lost". Is that what U are asking? -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE9 16GB RAM |

Maurice, Well, I can confirm the other profile, joe schmoe, is alive and kicking, as I am able to run it using PSI 2.0.0.3003 on another XP Pro system and access all threads created under that user name... that version was not deleted or uninstalled as I later found out that the problem was not with my computer or net connection. The remaining problem is that I cannot register the 2.0.0.4003 version on the XP Home system I have as things stand now. <unregistered> is what the dashboard page says atm, and going to the profile page results in the data not being sent as the progress meter only goes to 10-15% and then immediately disappears! There is a thread I posted some time ago re not being able to log in here in the forum under joe schmoe, and this happened exactly when the Secunia forum site was redone. I am able to log in and out here at the forums using joe_schmoe, but unable to register the PSI program. I find this a little perplexing. If you could.... EDIT: fixed typos |
