I wanted to add a PS - that if Java is such a security risk that experts recommend not using it, why does Secunia require it for OSI?

But the thread is no longer there. Clicking on the link to it returned "tecnical error - technical team has been informed".

Searching for 'Java' first brought up stuff from two or more years ago - strange. (But 'Search' has since found all the recent stuff.)

So where is Maurice's thread? Has it been removed?

Yes - as I clearly wrote on my reply to U my intention was to delete it once U had replied.

Now that Secunia are asset tracking the issue I consider such informational threads as historical dross.

sorry - thought you'd said 'lock it', not 'delete it' Maurice.

So, should Secunia require Java for OSI?

I think only Secunia can answer that question.

As @ddmarshall pointed out they are not alone in creating a programme reliant on JAVA.
