PSI 2.0 automatic update does not update all Flash Player if both the ActiveX and the Firefox/Opera/Safari NPAPI plugin are installed. PSI incorrectly states fully patched

Hi Anthony,

Yes, it seems to be something similar.
I usually update Flash manually but that laptop had been in a drawer for a week so PSI ran a scan as soon as it was powered on. It looked as though it had updated and was reporting 100% but closer examination of the scan results showed the ActiveX was not up to date. I can't tell if this is a PSI problem or something else was interfering.

Hi again ,

Secunia are working on introducing their new SPS for creating their own silent update packages in the 3.0 Beta which might have ripples into 2.0.0.x .

Like you I usually do the manual route and have all my auto-update set to Prompt first . On another thread someone has Flash in a loop with the 3.0 Beta .

Who can tell !! not me .

Take care

Anthony

i don't understand what most of you are saying. it's been 24 hours and PSI stills says "update scheduled" for flash player. i will install the update manually.

Ji muffin ,

There are lots of problems with Flash updates reported , particularly concerning the "auto-update" procedure of the PSI .

As stated above , I have stopped any auto-updates from the PSI without my consent .

The message you are seeing should be consistent with the installer(s) being in place but are unable to run as some programme or other is using Flash :eg : a browser process is still loaded . Whatever , a manual update is , in my experience , less hassle and almost always quicker .

Hope you are sorted .

Take care

I always download both Flash Player IE and Non-IE from filehippo. Then uninstall previous version and then install new version. Always flawless.
