I posted previously about getting \"failed to publish\" when trying to make a new update package for Firefox 3.6.28. It looks like I can no longer publish ANY update packages. I will go through the steps and click \"publish\" and just get an error window that simply says \"failed to publish\". This happens when I try to publish any update package for any program. I have tried rebooting the server but this has had no effect. |

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. There could be a number of reasons why the package fails to publish. You should enable logging (Configuration -> Settings -> Enable Logging) and try to replicate the error. If you need any assistance with the error code you can send an email to csc@secunia.com -- Kind Regards, Oana Marin Solution Specialist |

I've run into a similar issue with my CSI publishing to SCCM/WSUS. I was told that there was a limitation within WSUS on the number of vendor/product names that could be populated within WSUS. I was told to delete some of the packages in CSI/WSUS and only then I was able to create new updates. Once I hit some limit again, I would get the failed to publish error. Unfortunately, I don't know what the limit is or how else to get around this. It would be ideal if I could create all the updates visible in CSI, but that doesn't seem possible. | ||||||||

The error suggests that there is a mismatch between the WSUS Administrative Console that you have installed on the computer where you have Secunia CSI and WSUS. You should check if the versions are the same and upgrade to the same version. If both consoles have the same versions then you might be missing this hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=2530678 Let me know if you still have problems, -- Kind Regards, Oana Marin Solution Specialist |
