Have moved to PSI3 Beta.
(1) Scans continually show Active X Update required, despite me having already updated Chrome using 'About', when Active X is automatically updated by that program
(2) One of your web pages shows a 'Settings (and something else)' box, but this does not appear in my installation.

Thank you

If you are referring to Flash Player, Chrome does not use the ActiveX. It uses its own version of the NPAPI plugin.
To update the Flash Player ActiveX you need to download it using Internet Explorer from the Adobe website http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Remember to uncheck whatever additional software Adobe try to foist on you.

The 'Settings' button was introduced in PSI3 Beta 2. This is version 3.0.0.6. You will need to download PSI 3 Beta again if you do not have this version.

Many thanks

XP Control Panel/Flash Player/settings Manager/Advanced/Updates/CVheck now, which I would use to update Adobe Flash Player refers to Active X. So are FP and Active X related? The FP program seems to say so:

If I try to update Flash Player on the Abobe website, I am told 'Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available,' which means I can't update from the Adobe website. When I update Chrome (clicking on 'About'), I do not therefore expect to see anything in PSI3.0 about Flash Player. But when I then run PSI3.0, I am told '1 Program needs updating' and this is followed by an icon with cogs in it entitled 'Preparing update Abobe Flash Player 11.x (Active X).' This is currently always present, notwithstanding I update Chrome every few days.

As I said in the previous post, you have to browse to the Adobe website with Internet Explorer not Chrome to download the ActiveX.

If you no longer use Internet Explorer, you can uninstall the ActiveX and Plugin for all browsers except Chrome by downloading the Uninstaller from this page:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-f...

Sadly, genuine submissions created on this Forum are getting "lost" amongst the sustained spammer attack posts being created.

I have grouped this post & others where Forum members have open questions & comments which should make it easier for Forum readers & helpers to navigate.
