@, A few days ago, I tried to remove Windows Explorer 8, fully updated, from my system. This was not succesful. A previous version of Windows Explorer appeared. I am not able to fully remove this version, either. I assume this is a Windows problem. But I am not sure. Secunia has six updates in store for me. Kind regards, Gert1904. |

I have to correct my earlier message. Sorry. It appears that KB2633952 could not be installed six times. Why, I do not know. There are several other Microsoft Updates in line. To me, it appears to be a Microsoft problem. But I am not sure. My Secunia score has dropped from 100 % to 85%, which has never happened before :-( |

Gert, U have not told us how U tried to "uninstall" IE. It is a Microsoft issue but this may help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700 I am unsure of your PC skill level - just be very careful when tinkering with IE. Parts of it are embedded into Windows & are required to operate it successfully. Maurice, My experience is good. I have 20+ years experience as a software developer. I used to have a Secunia Score of 100 %. I run Windows XP. Since IE8 regularly used all of my processor capacity, I wanted to uninstall it. I tried to remove IE8 via Configuration Screen/Software/IE8/remove. This seemed to be successfull, but then IE6 automatically reinstalled :-( I also tried to uninstall this. This dit not work. So I used System Restore. Now, I use Google Chrome instead. 6 Updates are pending on my system. ** I will try your suggestions right away. Kind regards, Gert1904 |

Maurice, Using your suggestion, I finally got an error message: "update cannot be installed as a newer or same timezone update has already been installed on your system". A Windows problem, indeed. I removed the update from my system, and ran al the pending updates. My Secunia score is back at 100%:-) Thank you! Kind regards, Gert1904. |

Pleased to see U are all fixed up. On that basis, I will lock this thread for U sometime tomorrow unless U post back asking for it to be left open. This will protect your mail box from possible update emails from "tag on" posts You can of course lock threads U have created. Just click the ACCEPT button in the post of the helper who offered U the best solution/advice to solve your problem.
