I've just updated both my Adobe Flash Players (Active X and Plug-in) to Version 11.2.202.235. The updated versions are showing in my control panel, but not in the Secunia scan results. I'm running Version 2.0.0.4003 of Secunia. I've restarted my computer and rescanned in Secunia, but both versions of the Adobe Flash Players are still not showing in Secunia. My computer is Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium version. I hope there is a fix for my problem since I rely on Secunia to tell me when updates are necessary. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide. |

It could appear over the weekend. If not I have suggested the programme to Secunia Support who will pick it up on Monday. EDIT It now shows correctly - please be aware this version remains vulnerable under SA 47161 http://secunia.com/advisories/47161/ -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

I've just rebooted my computer and run another scan; unfortunately, neither of the Adobe Flash Players showed up in the scan results. Where do I go from here? |

Try a reinstall from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Do not forget to take the tick (checkmark) out of the box unless U do not mind being "googled". -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

@Maurice Thanks for the link. I'm not sure I want to uninstall both versions of the Flash Player right now and then reinstall them. I'll see what happens over the weekend before I make a decision. Thanks for the reminder about unchecking the box so I don't get unwanted add-ons. |

A good idea. If U do decide to clear out Adobe Flash I would recommend this method: UPDATING THE STANDALONE ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 1. Download & SAVE these to desktop. IE & Other Browsers using the Trident Rendering Engine. http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/curren... & then here, if U have any other type of browser that does not have Flash embedded. http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/curren... 2. The installer will appear on the desk top. THE IMPORTANT BIT - Before agreeing to install Flash check these programmes are completely shut down (use the Task Manager if necessary (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) to COMPLETELY EXIT these processes if running)): a. All Browsers. b. Windows Messenger. c. Incredimail. d. All Adobe Products. e. PSI - Unless using version 2 or version 3 BETA 2 3. [b]The new install will then remove all old files during the update process. 4. Complete a PSI rescan & all should be in order. Go to Start>Control Panel>click the Flash Player (32 Bit) icon>check the settings are to your requirements. @Maurice Thanks for all the suggestions. For now, since I'm very new to Windows 7, I'm going to operate on the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" theory. I have both the 32 and 64 bit Adobe Flash Players on my computer in both the plug-in and Active X versions and am going to leave well enough alone for now. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Secunia and rescanned, but to no avail. I've printed out your instructions so I'll have them to refer to. Meanwhile, I've bookmarked the Adobe site that gives me the latest version of the player and I'll monitor it myself to make sure I have the latest versions. |

I have emailed Secunia asking them to reply to this thread. I rescanned & the latest version has disappeared from my PC for some unknown reason. The old Flash version is still showing as secure on another of my test PC's so this indicates they have not updated their database. They should sort it out tomorrow so everyone will be updated correctly. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

@Mynah Bird, The latest version should now be showing after a full scan. Please be aware that Adobe Flash remains vulnerable under SA47161. @ Maurice, Emil and everyone else who helped. I just ran a scan and all is well. Both versions of the Flash Player show up in the scan results. BTW--it was easier for me to print off the instructions so I could locate them easily--it's definitely a preference for me since reading on the screen is difficult for me at times. | ||||||||
