Hi all, I have a problem, I need to do a scan, but when I click "Scan your PC" and then "Start Scan" nothing happens, the button stays green but the scan will not start. Does anybody know what has gone wrong? My browser is Internet Explorer9 Regards Robert. |

| Hi, Please walk through this item of our FAQ: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... Take special note of the section about "ActiveScripting" and security levels, although you should also add https://psi.secunia.com to your trusted sites. After doing this, restart the PSI (By closing the interface and tray icon). Has this resolved the issue? |

Hi Emil, thanks for your quick reply, I have added https://*.secunia to the safe list but unfortunately the scan is still dead, now I am wondering is a dll file is somehow missing, perhaps it would be better to uninstall and then reinstall the program? regards Robert. | ||||||||

@tyler4402 Hello. It may be that Support are now away for the weekend....tho' I think Emil has responded sometimes on a Saturday. Meanwhile....are you still using XP SP3 ? If that is so, you might like to check out the following items which did, until recently form part of the FAQ's....as follows :- If that did not resolve the problem either, and you are using Windows XP, try these steps: 1) Go to where you installed the PSI (Probably C:\Program Files\Secunia\PSI, or C:\Program Files (x86) for 64-bit systems), right-click PSI.exe, click Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and set a check at 'Turn off advanced text services for this program' If that did not resolve the issue, then you can try 2) Go to Control Panel > Regional and language options > Languages Tab > Details > Advanced. From here, set a check at 'Turn off advanced text services' (Please note that this is a global setting unlike what is described in step 2). Hope the foregoing is of some help..........regards........... -- |

@tyler4402 Having looked thro' previous threads/posts of your's, I'd found that you'd previously used XP SP3.....hence my posting those further items, in the hope that they may have been found of use. As you are now a W7 user, they are not applicable. -- |

Hi Mogs Sorry for misleading you I should have put my PC specs on first, I guess it does alter things a bit now I am running W7. perhaps I should just un-install the prog and run CCleaner, then download the program again and re-install it. Regards Robert. |

@tyler4402 Have you in fact been able to use psi successfully whilst using W7 ? What version of psi have you got currently installed ? -- |

@tyler4402 The choice is entirely yours..... Worth bearing in mind perhaps that the 2.0.0.3003 version was the best of the most recent....2.0.0.4003 ( which I use ) is the next best. The main thing is getting your ability to scan back. Yes....clearing out temp. files/folders before re-installing has oft been found advantageous. Emil will probably pick up on the thread in the morning and may have further suggestions....perhaps you'd rather wait before further action ? -- |

| Hi, In Windows 7, please type "Services" in the Start Menu search field. It will open a configuration tool. Please read through these services and see if "Secunia Update Agent" and "Secunia PSI Agent" are both present and have a status of "Enabled". Please report back with your findings. |
