I've some machines that try to install the same three updates again and again. All the updates fail with error -2147352319 in the SecuniaPackage.log but the windowsupdate.log show that they returned error 0. Any ideas? edit: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310939/en-us?fr=1 maybe this describes the problem???? |

Hi. I usually try not to reply to CSI queries, leaving them to the experts here. But as you mention three updates that your PCs are trying to install again and again, I have to wonder if they are the three .NET framework updates referred to here: http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/126... It would be a huge co-incidence if they're not the ones that you're having problems with but, again, I would stress that I am simply trying to be helpful. They are 3rd party app updates that have been created with secunia csi and deployed with wsus. |

Hi, Thank you for your post. What applications are you trying to install? From what I can see in the Microsoft link provided the error (-2147352319) is a script error. Did you customize the updates or did you follow the default configuration? -- Kind Regards, Oana Marin Solution Specialist |

i used default definitions provided by secunia. If i remember it correctly those were Irfanview, Adobe Shockwave & Adobe Air 3.x in their most recent versions. I tried installing the updates seperatly but it didn't make any difference. I could see that the computers tried to install the updates several times as we have a policy to install updates every day at a certain time. Rebooting the computers didn't make any difference. Up till now i've seen it on 3 computers, but that was more of a coincidence, so a lot more computers could have that problem. Imho it's not good that updates that return an error code are not recognized as failed updates, because we don't have any tools to recognize them properly. Thanks Joe |
