---START---

Program Name:
Google Talk 1.x

Security State:
Insecure

Download Link:
http://dl.secunia.com/SPS/GoogleTalk_1.0.0.105_SPS...

Instances Found:
C:\Users\Ab\AppData\Roaming\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe, version: 1.0.0.104

Last System Scan (localtime):
13. Jun 2012, 06:02

Operating System:
Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows 7

---END---

I have tried to install and uninstall to no avail. When I installed it, I could not find a version number. All I want to do now is uninstall it permanently. It is taking up way too much time and resources to fix this.

I got the same thing from Both PSI 2.0 and PSI 3.0

Both programs show that Google Talk is Insecure, yet I could not update them to the latest versions until I tried a counter intuitive answer.

Automatic updates do not work,

Manual updates fail with the error:
"This Version requires Windows 2000,XP, or 2003; you ahve 6.1
Would you like to continue with the installation anyway?"

WHEN you see the box you MUST click YES to install the update.

THEN ( AND ONLY TTHEN ) WILL THE PROGRAM UPDATE ITSELF.

If you got to the google site IT will automatically send you BACK to 104 ( the insecure version) you must use the GoogleTalk_1.0.0.105_SPS.exe file.

See this thread for a possible explanation of what is going on:
http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/127...

Also, read the original report and you will find you were probably not vulnerable if you had not updated from 104 to 105 and were not using an international version of Google Talk.
