ok so heres the deal I cannot update microsoft works nine because i do not have a disc, it is a pre-installed version of windows from dell the manufacturer. I have contacted dell and they told me there is nothing i can do short of purchasing a copy of windows which seems very redundant. oh this is for windows 7 if that makes a difference. Any suggestion?

the feature you are trying to use is on a cd-rom or other removable disk that is not available.

insert the 'microsoft works' disk and click ok.

is the exact message i get using your link, or windows update.

It would be a good idea to give us all the facts in the first instance before U start tampering with the scoring from those seeking more information.

So here is the deal - I will give U a clue & unsubscribe & leave U to sort it out with Dell if need be because it is nothing to do with this Forum although I was prepared to try and help.

The clue is there for U cd-rom or other removable disk - OEM partition.

Good luck.
