Hi. Just installed version 3 and am evaluating. At first glance, it doesn't seem to have all the features of 2.0, including a nice list view of all the programs. One glaring omission is the ability to exclude a program from future scans. How can I accomplish this with 3.0? I will tough it out a bit, then I might have to go back to 2.0 which is proven. Thanks :) |

Open PSI>click Show Programs>U will now see a list of icons for your programmes>Right click on the icon of the programme to be ignored>activate the option "Ignore Updates To This Program". -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 SP1 16GB RAM |

Hi Maurice, I would like to hide (totally exclude the program) and not just ignore updates to it. Just like I was able to do in 2.0. TIA :) |

I think I have read somewhere on the Forum that under certain conditions this is buggy & Secunia are looking at it. I have just tested the feature on my test PC (Windows 7) & it works OK. What I did. 1. Checked the Home Page & I had 42 programmes installed. 2. Opened the programme page>selected an icon item, right click & activated "Ignore Updates To This Program". The item icon was immediately removed & the installed programmes changed from 42 to 41. 3. Carried out a full PSI rescan. Only 41 programmes were presented as per my instructions. At the bottom is the "missing" programme which has the option to return it to normal. This action also worked correctly. I think the wording is confusing - the scanner looks at all exe or ocx or dll regardless on the drive(s) selected for scanning. Once complete it produces results as per the user setting. This is the same in version 2 except they use the words "Ignore Program". -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 SP1 16GB RAM |
