For three days now Secunia has shown VLC Media Player as insecure and under "Install Solution" it says "Auto-updates are enabled for this program."

Then why, after three days, has it not updated the program?

Post "RE: Secunia & VLC Media Player" has been selected as an answer.

Hello Nikilet ,

Save yourself some time and bother ; get the installer from the "official" site here :-

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Just download/save the installer and then run it ; that should do the trick .

Take care

Anthony

Actually, that's what I did, but I guess I wonder why Secunia won't update these program as it's supposed to.

Judging on recent activity from Secunia U are highly unlikely to receive a response from them on this Forum.

If U can spare the time I would write to them at support@secunia.com & ask the same question including the version of PSI U are using.

My test experience of auto updating with version 3 is little different to yours - like watching paint dry.

I did as you suggested. I'm not going to bother with installing the newest version. I never have liked this 2.0 as well as I liked the original.

Very wise. Have a nice weekend.
