Scans at 99%.
Advised of manual program update required.
PSI alternates between "preparing update" & "updating" but nothing is happening.
It has been like this for hours!!
How do I resolve this please.

Lots of reports on that type of (non) activity with V3. Save yourself heartache & use this link to update.

https://kjkpub.s3.amazonaws.com/sumatrapdf/rel/Sum...

A full PSI rescan should show the update.

Hope this helps.

Your suggestion has not been successful.

Looking at Secunia History I find that the update has been downloaded 21 times and on each occasion the status is shown as successful!

What else can I try?

Thanks

Open PSI>once open select Show Programs.
U will now see a page full of programme icons.
Right click on the icon that represents the programme in error>select Show Details - that will open a box showing the path & version number of the offending file.
U now have 2 options:
1. Write down the exact file path & install version - return to the Forum & type that information.
2. Take a screen shot & publish that.

That is not the main Sumatra programme - it is an old version held by your backup programme.

Open PSI>once open select Show Programs.

U will now see a page full of programme icons.

Right click on the icon that represents the programme in error>select Show Details - that will open a box showing the path & version number of the offending file.

Double click on C:\Program Files(x86)\NovaStor\Nova Stor Nova BACKUP\DR\sumatrapdf.exe

That will open Windows Explorer & U will see that file. Right click on it & select delete.

Run a full PSI scan & the problem should be resolved in that the new version should now show.

George,
Pleased to see everything is in order.

On that basis, I will lock this thread for U sometime tomorrow unless U post back asking for it to be left open.

This will protect your mail box from possible update emails from "tag on" posts

You can of course lock threads U have created. Just click the ACCEPT button in the post of the helper who offered U the best solution/advice to solve your problem.

Secunia Support can always reopen threads by applying by email to: support@secunia.com

EDIT

Thread locked at: 20:00 18/07/2012
