Secunia has detected my Adobe Flash Player 11 as Adobe Flash Player 10, and the ACTIVEX control as Flash Player 9x. After a reboot Secunia now detects the flash components as Macromedia Flash Player 8x. According to the Flash Player in Control Panel, it is version 11x. All of those files require deletion to be secure. Just do this: 1. Open PSI>Scan results. 2. Against the programmes marked as vulnerable or End of Life is a + sign to the left of it. 3. Click that & it will reveal DETECTED INSTANCES. 4. Below that are two yellow folders. Click the one WITHOUT a red dot. 5. That will open Windows Explorer & U will be able to see the vulnerable or End of Life files U have shown us. 6. Right click on each one & select delete. 7. Carry out a full PSI scan & all should be in order. The reason they are being retained is because U are updating Adode Flash when it is in use. These must be closed to delete Flash Elements or update Flash. a. All Browsers. b. Windows Messenger. c. Incredimail. d. All Adobe Products. e. PSI - Unless using version 2 or version 3 Adobe & Macromedia mean the same thing - Adobe purchased Macromedia hence the two names. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

This did the trick, thank you, although it is still odd how something so old which I have never installed on this system has appeared here. Anyway, it doesn't matter, everything works fine and so far there and there appear to be no negative side effects on the system from the removal of the old files. |
