I was running PSI Version 3.0 and had not applied maintenance, because I am not setting "Install updates automatically" since my preference is to manually manage when software is updated. I could not tell if the version I was running had maintenance applied, so I went ahead and downloaded latest version which did include maintenance but did not change version shown at start of PSI. Question: How can I identify PSI version & maintenance level that I am running? Note: After updating to latest PSI 3.0 maintenance, I can now see Program Version if I select Setting> Detailed view, but would not see if did not select Detailed view. Was email sent saying that maintenance was released and latest PSI should be downloaded or do I have to regularly check PSI forum? -- TomVA |

The maintenance update news was not notified by email like the release of version 3 from BETA to RTM. Normally it is announced on the Forum. This "problem" has been raised on numerous occasions but Secunia do not appear to want to include the notification within the programme or provide a "Check For Update" link except for version 1.5.0.2 which has a task tray "balloon" message telling users a new version is available. Older versions download links are not currently prominent on the web page either for those who preferred to revert to the more advanced version 1 & 2 although Secunia are looking at this aspect. To help I have included the links after my Signature Block but as U have noted a user currently needs to use the Forum to get a direct vendor link for newer versions. If U would like to see this important feature in future edition I would suggest U post here: https://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/13... Hope this helps. EDIT: Even if U have PSI set to auto update it would/should not have auto updated or notified users of a new version. PSI does not notify or auto update any programme that is released by vendors for maintenance/cosmetic/bug fix reasons. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |
