Twice now, five days apart, PSI v. 3.0 informs me that a manual update of the Adobe Flash Player is required. When I open PSI, I find a button to update Flash Player 11.x (NPAPI). Clicking on this causes the display to show 'Installing...' but no actual progress is detectable. Indeed, the display remains as long as the program remains open.

I've manually updated Adobe Flash Player from the Adobe Downloads page but this has not altered the behavior I see here. Manual Update seems not to be working for Flash Player in PSI v. 3.0. Has anyone else seen this issue?

I am running a homebuilt computer with an ASUS motherboard, 64 Gb RAM with WIndows 7 64-bit Professional. My connection to the Internet is DSL. I have an extensive security suite of several packages which I do not identify under my current security protocol.

What is the path of the file PSI is trying to update?

Open PSI>once open select Show Programs.
U will now see a page full of programme icons or a list.
Right click on the icon or item that represents the programme in error>select Show Details - that will open a box showing the path & version number of the offending file.
U now have 2 options:
1. Write down the exact file path & install version - return to the Forum & type that information.
2. Take a screen shot & publish that.

Thank you, Maurice. I get in fact two paths:

C;\Users\Pete Rogan\AppData\Local\AOL\AIM\NPSWF32.dll

C;\Users\Pete Rogan\AppData\Local\AOL\AIM\update\NPSWF32.dll

Installed version for both is 11.1.102.63 (NPAPI)

Should I ignore the PSI result and just update AIM?

Once U update AIM & run a rescan it should clear the issue.

The program in question was the stand-alone AIM chat program, which I do not use. Removing it and rescanning revealed no problem. Apparently AOL does not update its chat utility when Flash updates. Not to be forgotten.

The problem is resolved. Thank you, Maurice.
